REASONS FOR CLOSING
WHY WE MAY HAVE TO CLOSE
Summer is a hard time for wolves. Even though they have lost their winter coats they still have layers and the heat and humidity is so very hard on them. Anything above 85 and humid prompt us to close early. We do this for the safety of the wolves. Always check here and Facebook or call before venturing out.
Our mission is to protect the wolves and sometimes that means from MOTHER NATURE.
We do our best to keep them cool, and comfortable.
Winter is the best time to come and see them of course, as they are good to -40 degrees below, we are not. You have to remember that we are out with them all day and sometimes without a break, so when it's real cold even we have to call it quits. We are also 2 1/2 miles back a main road so be aware of snow or ice.
So anything 32 degrees and below we will close. This is for the safety of the humans.
Now for all you Fall and Spring people.....
There are usually no temperture problems, but like in the summer severe storms & lightning will cause us to close. Again for the safety of the wolves and humans.
We are open year round so these few times we would have to close are far and few between.
This is also our home so please respect our privacy .
We do have cameras and an alarm system so please do not climb fences or go around gates as it sets all this off inside our home.
Please understand that the change from winter coat to summer coat is drastic. They do NOT have mange and they are NOT starving.
